lemlist Alternatives (2026): Picks by Reason for Switching, and When lemlist Still Costs Less

Email only: Smartlead ($39) wins under 6,000 a month, lemlist at 6,000–100,000 and 125,000–200,000, Instantly at 100,000–125,000 and 200,000–875,000.

On this page 13 sections

If you send email only, leaving lemlist saves money in just three bands: under about 6,000 emails a month, from 100,000 to 125,000, and from 200,000 to 875,000. Everywhere else up to 875,000, its Email plan is the cheapest of the three senders we priced, so a switch there has to be about something other than the email bill, such as LinkedIn, contact data, CRM follow-up or keeping clients apart.

Quick answer

Leaving lemlist lowers an email-only bill only below 6,000 emails a month and 2,000 people in total (Smartlead Base, $39), at 100,000–125,000 (Instantly Hypergrowth, $97) or at 200,000–875,000 (Instantly plus add-ons); otherwise lemlist’s Email plan costs least of the three. LinkedIn: HeyReach, $79 per sender. Data: Apollo Basic, $65 per seat. Monthly prices, checked October 2, 2026 (Apollo: September 29).

Start with the tool that matches your reason

Smartlead. Best fit if you’d leave lemlist to save on a small email-only list. Base is $39 a month, against lemlist’s $69, as long as you stay within 6,000 sends a month and 2,000 stored contacts in total; that total doesn’t reset monthly (October 2, 2026).

HeyReach. Best fit if LinkedIn is most of your outreach and your email can run in another tool. Growth: $79 a month per LinkedIn sender, with teammates free; the 14-day trial covers 3 LinkedIn accounts and needs no card (October 2, 2026).

Apollo. Best fit if you pay lemlist mainly to find contacts and send modest volume. Basic: $65 per seat a month with 2,500 credits; a verified email costs 1 credit (September 29, 2026).

Do the old reasons for leaving lemlist still hold?

The per-user complaint no longer holds for email-only sending: new customers pay by team volume, from $69 a month for 50,000 emails with unlimited users (how lemlist prices each plan today), though lemlist’s own “16 best lemlist alternatives in 2026” post (updated August 10, 2026) still quotes “from $55 / user / month (annual).” The rest still stands: LinkedIn and calls cost $109 per user on Multichannel (Multichannel Expert in lemlist’s help center), and the Email plan pauses campaigns at its monthly cap and can’t share a team with Multichannel.

Which alternative matches your reason for leaving lemlist?

Pick the row that describes why you want out; each tool links to the section that prices it against staying.

Vendors change pricing often.

Does any tool send email-only campaigns for less than lemlist?

Yes, in three bands. Up to 6,000 emails a month, until you’ve stored 2,000 contacts, Smartlead Base ($39) is cheaper. From 6,000 to 100,000, lemlist’s Email plan ($69 or $89) is the cheapest of the three. From 100,000 to 125,000, Instantly Hypergrowth ($97, 125,000 emails a month) costs $62 less than lemlist’s $159 tier, if you can live with its 25,000 uploaded contacts. From 125,000 to 200,000, lemlist ($159) is cheapest again. From 200,000 to 875,000, Instantly with its Outreach add-on costs less than lemlist, by up to $214 a month.

Monthly list prices, US dollars as listed, checked October 2, 2026. lemlist cells are the smallest Email tier covering the row. Instantly’s Outreach add-on ($87 a month on Hypergrowth or Light Speed, stackable) adds 125,000 emails and 25,000 uploaded contacts. Hypergrowth’s 125,000 emails is the figure on Instantly’s monthly pricing card, its pricing file, its add-on help article and, on September 30, 2026, its in-app billing page; only the yearly card and the comparison table on the pricing page say 100,000. “Binds first” assumes three emails per person and new people every month. Billed yearly (lemlist $55, $71 and $127; Smartlead $32.50, $78.30 and $144.50 on its pricing page, $32, $78 and $144 in its app; Instantly $37.60 and $77.60, or $451 and $931 a year in its app), the ranking holds up to 125,000 emails; above that, the add-on’s yearly price isn’t published. lemlist also bills quarterly: $62 a month for the 50,000 tier. Vendors change pricing often.

The vendors’ in-app plan pages agree with these monthly prices. In trial accounts the owner opened on September 30, 2026, an AI browser assistant read the billing pages (nothing was sent or bought): lemlist showed its Email plan at $69 monthly, $62 quarterly and $55 yearly (our lemlist trial notes), and Instantly listed Hypergrowth at 125,000 emails a month (our Instantly trial notes).

Contact caps matter too. lemlist’s Email plan has none. Smartlead Base’s 2,000 contacts don’t reset monthly, and Smartlead doesn’t say whether deleting contacts frees room. Three-step sequences at 5,000 emails a month reach about 1,700 new people, so Base fills early in the second month. Instantly’s uploaded contacts don’t reset either, but deleting contacts from campaigns (not lists) frees room. On lemlist, emails bind: campaigns pause at your tier, and the cap also counts email sent from its inbox and contact panel.

Warmup isn’t extra on any of the three: lemlist includes lemwarm on all plans, Instantly lists unlimited warmup on every plan, and Smartlead’s warmup pool rises with the plan (Foundation tier on Base, Growth on Pro). Your domains and mailboxes move with you, so if deliverability is why you’re leaving, check their setup and daily volume per mailbox against our deliverability guide first.

Cheaper than lemlist in three volume bands

Smartlead. Best fit at the low end of the volume range: an email-only list that will stay under about 2,000 people in total. Base is $39 a month for 6,000 sends; Pro, at $94, raises that to 90,000 sends and 30,000 stored contacts (October 2, 2026).

Instantly. Best fit if you send 100,000 to 125,000 or 200,000 to 875,000 emails a month, email only. Hypergrowth is $97 a month for 125,000 emails and 25,000 uploaded contacts; each Outreach add-on ($87) adds 125,000 emails and 25,000 contacts, so one add-on makes $184 for 250,000 (October 2, 2026).

What replaces lemlist when LinkedIn is your main channel?

A tool that charges per LinkedIn sender rather than per user, if LinkedIn is most of your outreach: HeyReach is $79 a month per sender with unlimited users, against $109 per user for lemlist Multichannel. For email, HeyReach’s pricing page points to its native integrations with Instantly and Smartlead.

PlanBilled monthlyBilled yearly (per month)How LinkedIn is counted
lemlist Multichannel$109 per user ($99 billed quarterly)$87 per userOne LinkedIn account per lemlist account; each LinkedIn profile needs its own seat
Reply.io Multichannel$99 per user$89 per userLinkedIn automation for 1 account per user included
Reply.io Email Volume$59 per user (1,000 active contacts); $179, unlimited users (10,000)$49 per user (1,000); $159, unlimited users (10,000)LinkedIn is an add-on, $69 a month per account
HeyReach Growth$79 per sender$63 per senderA sender is a LinkedIn account; teammates, VAs and clients are free
HeyReach Agency$999 for 25 senders$799White label included; you bring your own proxies

List prices checked October 2, 2026 for lemlist and HeyReach and September 29, 2026 for Reply.io, US dollars as listed. lemlist’s $99 quarterly price is the in-app plan page’s figure; its help center says only that quarterly billing gets the same 10% discount. Reply.io’s Email Volume card says per user up to 5,000 active contacts and unlimited users from 10,000. HeyReach’s FAQ calls Growth “Starter.” Vendors change pricing often.

Reply.io vs lemlist is closer on price than on what’s included. Reply.io Multichannel is $10 less per user billed monthly ($99 against $109), the same as lemlist’s quarterly price, and $2 more yearly ($89 against $87). lemlist Multichannel includes 400 data credits and 400 calling minutes per user a month. Reply.io’s card lists 50 live data credits a month and includes calls and SMS, but its pricing page gives no minute allowance or credit value. See also what lemlist’s LinkedIn and call steps do.

The gap grows with LinkedIn profiles. Each lemlist account connects to one LinkedIn account, so 25 profiles on lemlist means 25 Multichannel seats: $2,725 a month ($2,175 billed yearly). Reply.io Multichannel for 25 users is $2,475. HeyReach Agency covers 25 senders for $999, though you supply the proxies.

The awkward case is a mixed team: five people send email, only one also needs LinkedIn, all within 50,000 emails a month. lemlist’s Email and Multichannel plans can’t share a team (what moving between the two plans takes), so there are three ways to set it up:

SetupBilled monthlyBilled yearly (per month)Catch
lemlist: all five on Multichannel$545$435You pay for LinkedIn and calling four people won’t use
lemlist: an Email team plus a one-person Multichannel team$178$142Two subscriptions; the teams don’t share contacts, duplicate detection or unsubscribe lists
Smartlead Pro or Instantly Hypergrowth for email, plus one HeyReach sender$173 or $176$141.30 or $140.60Two tools; check how opt-outs move between them

List prices checked October 2, 2026. Smartlead Pro and Instantly Hypergrowth are each vendor’s cheapest plan that lets you add team members. Yearly figures use the pricing pages ($78.30 and $77.60 a month); the in-app billing pages on September 30, 2026 showed $936 and $931 a year.

The two cheaper setups cost within $5 of each other. With two lemlist teams, an opt-out in one has to be added to the other by hand. HeyReach’s help article on its Instantly integration covers passing leads both ways, such as when a lead replies, but not unsubscribes or blocklists, and white-label users can’t use it. Check how opt-outs move before you rely on it (whose list an opt-out has to reach under CAN-SPAM).

Pay per LinkedIn account, or per seat with email included

HeyReach. Best fit if several people or clients work from a shared set of LinkedIn accounts, since you pay per account and users are free. Growth: $79 a month per sender; Agency: $999 a month for 25 senders, white label included (October 2, 2026).

Reply.io. Best fit if every sender needs email and LinkedIn in one tool and you pay monthly. Multichannel: $99 per user a month billed monthly ($89 yearly), LinkedIn automation for one account per user included (September 29, 2026).

Which tool bundles contact data with sequences for less?

Apollo, if finding contacts is most of what you pay for. Basic’s 2,500 monthly credits, at 1 credit per verified email, cover about six times the 400 emails lemlist’s smallest data add-on finds, for $65 a seat instead of $69 plus $20.

  • lemlist: the Email plan includes no credits. The data add-on is $20 a month ($16 yearly) for 2,000 credits, and the email finder uses 5 credits per deliverable or risky address, so up to 400 emails. Multichannel includes 400 credits per user, up to 80 emails. Plan credits reset each month.
  • Apollo Basic ($65 per seat monthly, $49 yearly with 30,000 credits a year up front) includes 2,500 credits a month, but only 1 mailbox per user and 250 emails a day.
  • Apollo Professional ($99 monthly, $79 yearly) raises that to 4,000 credits, unlimited Google and Microsoft mailboxes and no daily sending cap.

Apollo’s sequences are email-first: in our own Apollo account on September 27, 2026 (an AI browser assistant made the clicks), LinkedIn steps in a new sequence were manual tasks, not automation; the notes are with what Apollo’s free plan covers, and lemlist vs Apollo on who runs the LinkedIn steps sets that against lemlist’s Multichannel plan. Apollo also charges per seat, so every sender pays; Apollo’s cost per contact works it out by plan. If you’d keep a separate sender for volume, Instantly vs Apollo prices the pair from 1 to 10 mailboxes. If data is your reason, Apollo is the one to price first.

Can your CRM run the follow-up instead of lemlist?

Yes, if your sequences are email, calls and texts rather than LinkedIn: Close’s workflows start on Growth ($109 per user monthly, $99 yearly; what else Close holds back until Growth), and Pipedrive’s sequences on Growth ($49 per seat monthly, $39 yearly; which Pipedrive limits the whole company shares).

The owner’s notes from our Close trial on September 27, 2026 (an AI browser assistant made the clicks) list a workflow’s step types: email, call, SMS, assign user, task, create or update opportunity, update lead and filter. There’s no LinkedIn step. The published part of those notes, on building a workflow, is with how Close and Pipedrive feel to set up. Pipedrive’s pricing page describes its sequences as flows of targeted emails and task reminders. Side by side: Close vs Pipedrive on calls and sequences.

If LinkedIn steps matter, you don’t have to choose: every lemlist plan lists HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive integrations, so lemlist can keep sending while the CRM holds the pipeline. Our guide to the sequencer layer covers where each tool sits.

When the CRM can take over

Close. Best fit if your follow-up mixes email, calls and texts, and LinkedIn isn’t part of it. Growth: $109 per user a month billed monthly ($99 yearly), the first plan with workflows (October 2, 2026).

Which tool keeps client campaigns apart for less?

Smartlead Pro, if your clients only need email: ten clients cost $94 to $384 a month there, against $690 on lemlist and $970 on Instantly when each client gets a separate space.

  • Smartlead: its help center says a client who logs in sees only the email accounts and campaigns associated with them, and pitches that access as something to charge clients for “without costing you a single dollar extra.” White-label client workspaces are a separate line: Smartlead’s pricing page, and the plan page in its app as the owner’s trial showed it on September 30, 2026, list them as not available on Base, a $29-a-month add-on on Pro and Unlimited Smart, and included on Unlimited Prime (“3+”). Its FAQ adds that Pro comes with one free client, which neither the pricing page nor the app mentions. None of these pages says whether client logins and client workspaces are the same feature, so ten clients cost $94 on Pro with client logins alone, $355 if the FAQ’s free client applies, or $384 with ten paid workspaces. All share Pro’s 30,000 stored contacts.
  • lemlist: one team per client, and each team is a separate subscription: ten clients on the Email plan cost $690 a month ($550 billed yearly). One $69 team works too, but everyone in a team can see and control all of its campaigns and leads.
  • Instantly gives clients a portal on Hypergrowth ($97), but a client with campaign access sees every campaign in the workspace. Separate clients need a workspace each, and each workspace is its own subscription: $970 a month for ten (how Instantly bills an agency per client).
  • HeyReach Agency ($999 a month for 25 LinkedIn senders) includes one white label, and clients join as users at no charge.

Who should stay on lemlist?

Stay if you send only email at about 6,000 to 100,000 a month, or 125,000 to 200,000: lemlist’s Email plan is the cheapest of the three we priced in those ranges and includes unlimited users and contacts. Between 100,000 and 125,000, Instantly Hypergrowth ($97) costs less, as long as 25,000 uploaded contacts at a time is enough.

  • Your sellers use lemlist’s included data and calling. Multichannel includes 400 data credits and 400 calling minutes per user a month; Reply.io’s card lists 50 live data credits and no minute allowance. On yearly billing, lemlist is also $2 less per user.
  • You’re on Email Pro. lemlist says Email Pro customers stay on their current pricing, so check what a move would cost before assuming it saves money.
  • You want a CRM integration at the entry price. Every lemlist plan, including the $69 Email plan, lists HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive integrations. The cheaper entry plans don’t: Smartlead Base has no CRM access, and Instantly’s plan comparison ticks “API, webhooks, and integrations” for Hypergrowth, not Growth. More in our Instantly vs lemlist integrations section.

lemlist is a poor fit for small email-only lists under 6,000 emails a month, for 100,000 to 125,000 or 200,000 to 875,000 emails a month, for teams where only some people need LinkedIn, and for agencies that want each client’s data apart without a subscription per client.

How we picked these tools, and which ones pay us

Every price and limit here comes from each vendor’s own pricing page or help center, first read on September 29, 2026, with monthly and yearly billing read separately. On October 2, 2026 we read lemlist’s, Smartlead’s, Instantly’s, HeyReach’s and Close’s pages again and nothing had changed; Apollo’s plan cards, and Reply.io’s and Pipedrive’s pricing pages, wouldn’t load for our page reader that day, so their figures are as of September 29. Prices are monthly list prices unless a line says otherwise, in US dollars as listed, and totals are our arithmetic. lemlist, Apollo and Pipedrive say their prices exclude tax or VAT; lemlist adds VAT at checkout based on your billing address and also bills in euros or pounds. Outside the US, check the checkout total.

Nobody at Stacked Creator has run campaigns on these tools. The first-hand details come from the owner’s notes on our own accounts, where an AI browser assistant made the clicks: Apollo’s manual LinkedIn steps and Close’s workflow step types (September 27, 2026), and the plan and billing pages inside new lemlist, Smartlead and Instantly trials (September 30, 2026). Those trials sent nothing and bought nothing, and we have no notes on Reply.io or HeyReach, so nothing here describes running campaigns.

Within each reason, a tool made the list only if it removes that reason’s cost or limit; tools are then ordered by list price for the same job. Waalaxy and La Growth Machine are left out because their pricing pages opened in euros for us. We didn’t price Saleshandy, Snov.io or Woodpecker, since every reason already has a pick with a published dollar price.

We’re in the affiliate programs of lemlist, Apollo and Smartlead, and have applied to those of Instantly, Close and Pipedrive. Sign-ups through the links of a program that has approved us earn us a commission, and that includes lemlist when this page suggests you stay. We have no affiliate deal with Reply.io or HeyReach, and they get the same buttons. The note under each button says whether its link earns us anything.

Verdict

On the email bill alone, lemlist’s Email plan is the one to beat from about 6,000 to 100,000 emails a month and from 125,000 to 200,000; below 6,000, from 100,000 to 125,000, or from 200,000 to 875,000, a switch saves money. LinkedIn-heavy outreach and data-heavy prospecting can also cost less elsewhere.

  • Price at low volume (up to 6,000 emails a month, fewer than about 2,000 people in total): Smartlead Base, $39.
  • Price at 6,000 to 100,000 emails, and 125,000 to 200,000: stay on lemlist’s Email plan ($69 to $159), with unlimited users.
  • Price at 100,000 to 125,000 emails, and 200,000 to 875,000: Instantly, Hypergrowth at $97 and then with Outreach add-ons at $184 to $619, if you clear finished contacts to stay under its uploaded-contact cap.
  • LinkedIn: HeyReach charges per LinkedIn sender ($79) instead of per user ($109). If every sender needs both channels and you pay monthly, Reply.io Multichannel is $10 less per user, with fewer included data credits and no published calling minutes.
  • Data: Apollo Basic finds about six times the emails of lemlist’s smallest add-on, if 250 sends a day from one mailbox is enough.
  • CRM does the work: Close Growth or Pipedrive Growth, as long as LinkedIn isn’t in your sequence.
  • Client separation: Smartlead Pro with client logins, $94 to $384 for ten clients depending on whether you need white-label workspaces.

FAQ

Is there a free lemlist alternative that can still send campaigns?

Yes, Apollo’s: its Free plan sends up to 250 emails a day from one mailbox per user at no cost (September 29, 2026), and our rundown of Apollo’s free plan covers the credit and sequence limits that come with it. lemlist’s own free plan, which a cancelled account drops to, lets you view campaigns but not launch new ones.

What happens to unused lemlist credits when you switch tools?

Plan credits reset every month, so they don’t carry over. Credits from a data add-on stay until your next anniversary date after you cancel, then expire. Top-up and gift credits stay in your account after the plan ends and can still be used as long as the account exists. Our rundown of lemlist’s credit prices covers what each credit buys.

What happens to your lemlist data if you cancel?

Your account moves to lemlist’s free plan at the end of the billing cycle, and your campaigns, leads, templates and past results stay viewable. You can no longer launch new campaigns or use the HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive integrations, and lemlist recommends exporting leads and campaign results before you cancel.

Can you try these alternatives before paying?

Smartlead and Instantly both offer 14-day trials without a card: Smartlead’s allows 2,500 sends and 1,250 stored contacts; Instantly’s help center lists 1,000 emails, 250 leads and 2 email accounts, though the billing page in the owner’s trial on September 30, 2026 showed 1,250 emails a month and 250 contacts. HeyReach’s entry plan has a 14-day trial with 3 LinkedIn accounts and no card, Pipedrive’s plans have a 14-day trial without a card, and Apollo and Reply.io offer 14-day trials too (Smartlead, Instantly and HeyReach as of October 2, 2026; Pipedrive, Apollo and Reply.io as of September 29, 2026).
