Quick answer
Smartlead has no free plan, only a two-week trial4 without a card, and costs $39 to $379 a month1 by send volume, not per seat. Prices checked October 25, 2026. Base’s 2,000-contact cap1 frees up only when you delete leads. Yearly billing cuts Base to $32 a month1, refundable only within 7 days8 of first payment.

One sender, 3 clients and 10 clients: we total each from Smartlead’s pages (October 25, 2026) and the owner’s trial screens. The $54 solo bill is Base plus three bought mailboxes; client logins cost $29 each from Pro (one Smartlead page says the first is free); checkout tax and the account after day 14 aren’t published.
How much is Smartlead a month on each plan?
Smartlead’s four plans cost $39, $94, $174 and $379 a month billed monthly, or $32, $78, $144 and $315 a month billed yearly, on its pricing page1 as of October 25, 2026.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly, per month | Emails sent a month | Stored contacts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Base | $39 | $32 | 6,000 | 2,000 |
| Pro | $94 | $78 | 90,000 | 30,000 |
| Unlimited Smart | $174 | $144 | 150,000 | Unlimited |
| Unlimited Prime | $379 | $315 | 500,000 | Unlimited |
Swipe sideways on a phone for the yearly and contact columns. Checked October 3 and 25, 2026 on Smartlead’s pricing page (monthly and yearly views, read in a browser on October 3 and in a headless browser on October 25), its plain-text pricing file2 (accurate “as of 28 July 2026”) and its pricing-plans article3 (updated August 21, 2026).
Yearly prices are per month, paid upfront; the pricing file gives slightly different yearly figures (see where Smartlead’s pages disagree). US dollars, before tax.
Pro includes 90,000 sends a month on Smartlead’s pricing page, its pricing file and, since a rewrite we noticed on October 18, 2026, its FAQ page22, which said 150,000 on October 3. The app in the owner’s trial account showed the same figure when an AI assistant read it on September 30, 2026.
Lead data and client logins sit outside the plan price. On the pricing page1, SmartProspect’s verified prospect emails are a $59-a-month add-on on Base (2,000 a month) and Pro (30,000) and are included on Unlimited Smart (50,000) and Prime (170,000). Client workspaces cost $29 a month each from Pro, and Unlimited Prime includes three (see add-on prices).
The two counters on each plan behave differently. Email credits reset monthly; lead credits are “fixed based on your subscription plan and only free up when leads are deleted”, per Smartlead’s credit guide13.
Deleting a lead usually returns its credit at once14 (sometimes after 10 to 15 minutes) unless the same address sits in another campaign. Deleting a campaign15 releases all its leads. In the owner’s trial on October 14, 2026, one address imported into two draft campaigns took one slot of Contact Storage (1 of 1,250), as read by an AI assistant.
Smartlead’s All Leads archive16, which keeps archived leads outside the cap, was “first being rolled out” to Unlimited-plan users with 60,000 or more leads as of October 8, 2026, so on Base and Pro you free a slot only by deleting. If you need more active leads than that, Smartlead’s answer is to upgrade12.
Every plan includes unlimited connected email accounts and warmup with no per-mailbox charge, while the CRM, client workspaces, the API and webhooks start at Pro, per the pricing file2.
Teammates start at Pro too: Smartlead’s team-members article9 says to “Subscribe to the Pro plan”, after which their number is unlimited (one Smartlead comparison page disagrees; see where Smartlead’s pages disagree).
Smartlead’s Fair Use Policy21 (dated February 1, 2026) applies “even by those Users who have subscribed to an unlimited plan” and counts setting up mailboxes in a way that “subverts the reasonable and acceptable use of the Service” as excessive use, without a mailbox number.
The per-plan ceilings the policy listed on October 3, 2026 (100 on “Basic”, 300 on “Popular”, 800 on “Pro”) were gone on October 25, with its date unchanged. Its terms20 add that Smartlead “may put reasonable restrictions on volume limits on your use of the Mailbox Services (eg emails sent per hour, email size, bounce rates etc)”.
Above 150,000 sends, the pricing page1’s slider reprices the plan cards. We stepped through it in a browser on October 3, 2026: up to 420,000 sends the Unlimited Smart card changes price, then Unlimited Prime’s does, up to a last stop at 5.1 million. None of these tiers appears in the pricing file or the help center.
| Sends a month (slider) | Verified emails | Plan card | Monthly | Yearly, per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 240,000 / 330,000 / 420,000 | 80,000 / 110,000 / 140,000 | Unlimited Smart | $228 / $282 / $336 | $189 / $234 / $279 |
| 500,000 | 170,000 | Unlimited Prime | $379 | $315 |
| 630,000 / 750,000 / 870,000 / 990,000 | 210,000 / 250,000 / 290,000 / 330,000 | Unlimited Prime | $460 / $530 / $600 / $670 | $382 / $440 / $498 / $556 |
| 1.11 million to 5.1 million (22 stops) | 370,000 to 1.7 million | Unlimited Prime | $740 to $2,943 | $614 to $2,443 |
Phones show the price columns after a sideways scroll. Read from Smartlead’s pricing page1 in a browser, monthly and yearly views, on October 3, 2026; the 500,000 label on the Prime row is from the page’s code read on October 18 and a headless-browser render on October 25 (the browser showed 510K on October 3). US dollars, before tax.
What does Smartlead cost a solo sender, a 3-client agency and a 10-client agency?
All-in, a solo sender pays $53.58 to $112.58 a month, a 3-client agency $310.75 and a 10-client agency $678.83 on Pro, once client logins, lead data and Smartlead-bought mailboxes are added at the list prices on Smartlead’s pricing page on October 25, 2026.
Volumes follow our example stacks (about 30 cold emails per mailbox per workday, 22 sending days), and this page assumes a 3-step sequence, so new contacts are a third of sends.
Mailboxes are SmartSenders’ Google “Fresh” option, tied for the cheapest Google option on the pricing page1: $13 a domain a year ($1.08 a month) and $4.50 a mailbox a month, one domain per client. Totals are our arithmetic, billed monthly, before tax.
Smartlead’s own SmartSenders FAQ7 (read October 18, 2026) suggests starting Zapmail mailboxes at 5 to 8 emails a day and scaling to 15 to 20 after week 4; at 20 a day the same volume needs about half again as many mailboxes as the 30-a-day rows below.
| Setup (sends / new contacts a month) | Plan (contact cap fills after) | Add-ons a month | Total a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo founder, 3 mailboxes (1,980 / 660) | Base, $39 (about 3 months) | Mailboxes $14.58 (1 domain, 3 mailboxes); SmartProspect $59, optional | $53.58, or $112.58 with SmartProspect |
| 3 clients, 5 mailboxes each (9,900 / 3,300) | Pro, $94 (about 9 months); Base’s 6,000 sends are too few | Client logins $87 (3 × $29), SmartProspect $59, mailboxes $70.75 | $310.75 |
| Same 3 clients, own Google Workspace mailboxes | Pro, $94 (about 9 months) | Logins $87, SmartProspect $59, 15 Workspace users $126 (15 × $8.40), plus 3 domains from a registrar | $366 plus domains |
| Same 3 clients on Unlimited Smart | Unlimited Smart, $174 (no cap) | Logins $87, mailboxes $70.75; lead data included | $331.75 |
| 10 clients, 5 mailboxes each (33,000 / 11,000) | Pro, $94 (about 12 weeks) | Logins $290 (10 × $29), SmartProspect $59, mailboxes $235.83 (10 domains, 50 mailboxes) | $678.83 |
| Same 10 clients on Unlimited Smart | Unlimited Smart, $174 (no cap) | Logins $290, mailboxes $235.83; lead data included | $699.83 |
| Same 10 clients on Unlimited Prime | Unlimited Prime, $379 (no cap) | Logins $203 (3 included, 7 × $29*), mailboxes $235.83; lead data included | $817.83 |
The add-on and total columns sit to the right on a phone. Our arithmetic from Smartlead’s pricing page, pricing file and SmartSenders FAQ7, and Google Workspace Business Starter at $8.40 a user a month on the Flexible Plan ($7 on the Annual/Fixed-Term Plan) per Google’s billing help24, all checked October 25, 2026.
The domain isn’t in the Workspace price (Google’s sign-up help25 offers one from its partner Squarespace). “Contact cap fills after” assumes you never delete contacts.
We budget $29 for every client login, the price on the pricing page and in the app’s plan table (owner’s trial, screens an AI assistant read on September 30, 2026); see whether the first client is free.
*Prime includes “3+” client workspaces; the pricing file prices extra workspaces at $29 “from the Pro plan upwards”, which we read as covering Prime too.
Three things move the bill more than the plan: which cap you hit first (Pro’s 30,000 contacts last about 12 weeks at 11,000 new contacts a month unless you delete finished leads), whether each client needs a login ($29 each, so ten logins cost more than Pro itself), and where your mailboxes come from.
SmartSenders costs at least $55 a month less than Google Workspace in the 3-client setup, more once Workspace’s domains are paid, but its domains and mailboxes can’t be moved out of Smartlead and run a fixed 12-month term with no renewal, per the SmartSenders FAQ7.
Mailboxes you set up yourself on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 aren’t tied to Smartlead (see how to set up sending mailboxes).

Which Smartlead add-ons cost extra, and how much?
Every Smartlead add-on is billed on top of the plan as of October 25, 2026, all of them monthly except SmartSenders domains ($13 to $19 a domain a year, a one-time payment for a fixed one-year term with no renewal) and the one-time email-verification packs.
Smartlead’s refund policy8 calls six of them “strictly non-refundable”: SmartSenders, SmartInfra (formerly SmartServers), SmartDelivery, SmartProspects, Email Verification and SmartDialer.
| Add-on | Price | What it is | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|---|
| SmartProspect (lead data) | $59 a month flat | Verified prospect emails from what Smartlead calls 300M+ profiles; its help center calls the $59 a “quality upkeep fee” | Add-on on Base (2,000 a month) and Pro (30,000); included on Unlimited Smart (50,000) and Prime (170,000) |
| Client workspace (white label) | $29 a month each | A separate branded workspace per client, switched on through chat support | Pro and Unlimited Smart; Unlimited Prime includes 3; not on Base or in the trial |
| Warmup pool | Included | Foundation on Base, Growth on Pro, Premium on Unlimited Smart and Prime | Every plan (see warmup) |
| SmartSenders: Google “Fresh” | $13 a domain a year + $4.50 a mailbox a month | Mailboxes and domains bought inside Smartlead (Zapmail), ready in 24 to 48 hours | Any plan; minimum 1 domain and 1 mailbox |
| SmartSenders: Outlook | $13 + $4.50 (Zapmail) or $16 + $5 (InfraInbox) | Domain a year + mailbox a month | Any plan |
| SmartSenders: SMTP or pre-warmed | SMTP $19 + $3.99 (Mailreef) or $13 + $4.20 (AeroSend); pre-warmed Google or Outlook $18 + $9 | Pre-warmed are accounts Smartlead says are already warmed | Any plan; a Mailreef order holds up to 15 domains and 75 mailboxes (SmartSenders FAQ, October 25, 2026) |
| SmartServers (SmartInfra) | $39 a server a month | Dedicated IP and server | Add-on on Pro and Unlimited Smart; Unlimited Prime includes 3 |
| SmartDelivery (inbox placement tests) | $49, $174 or $599 a month | 120 campaign sequence tests on Growth ($49); unlimited on Pro ($174, up to 200 sender accounts a test) and Expert ($599, up to 500) | Any plan, separate subscription |
| Email verification credits | $16.50 one-time for 6,000 credits or $33 for 12,000; $15 or $30 monthly | Bounce checks before sending; the widget labels its monthly option “Save 17%” | Any plan; the pricing file says “starts at $32” |
| SmartDialer (calling) | Credits from $9 a month | $9 to $699 a month in credits on the pricing page’s SmartDialer slider; number prices in the field notes below | Any plan; the app says “Calling rate varies by region & country” |
| LinkedIn steps | Not published | The in-app plan screen mentions “email, LinkedIn, and beyond”; no price on the pricing page or in the pricing file | — |
Scroll right on a phone for the last two columns. Prices checked October 3 and 25, 2026 on Smartlead’s pricing page (add-on cards and verification widget, read in a browser on October 3 and in the page’s code on October 25) and pricing file, its SmartProspect guide6, white-labeling guide11 and SmartSenders FAQ. US dollars, before tax.
SmartDialer’s US-number price and calling-rate wording and the LinkedIn wording come from the owner’s trial account; an AI assistant read those screens on September 30, 2026. The credit tiers are on the pricing page.
SmartProspect is the add-on that decides your plan. On Smartlead’s pricing page1 it costs $59 for up to 30,000 verified emails a month on Pro and $59 for 2,000 on Base, while Unlimited Smart includes 50,000 (October 25, 2026). If you need only a handful of leads a month, a free data plan may do (see cheaper options).
Does Smartlead charge extra for warmup?
Smartlead’s warmup costs nothing extra on any plan or in the trial as of October 25, 2026: the pricing page1 lists a warmup pool on each plan with no separate charge, the FAQ page22 says you get “unlimited email accounts and warmup accounts without having to pay per account”, and the trial article4 says warmup emails don’t count toward the 2,500-send limit.
What changes with the plan is the pool you warm in. Smartlead’s warmup pool article5 assigns Foundation to Base, Growth to Pro and Premium to Unlimited Smart, and the pricing page lists Premium on Prime too.
A fourth pool, Ultra Premium, is “Currently FREE for all qualified users” and “will become a paid add-on in a future release”, at no stated price. The article names Pro, Unlimited Smart and Unlimited Prime users as eligible in one place and only Pro and Unlimited Smart in another.
Access takes every criterion shown in the app plus an upgrade flow: account age, bounce rate, authentication setup, sending volume, reply rate and a spread of email providers.
On Smartlead’s plan cards the $59 line on Base and Pro is SmartProspect lead data, not warmup, which no Smartlead page prices separately (pricing page1, October 25, 2026).
Should you pick Pro, Unlimited Smart or Unlimited Prime?
If you’ll buy lead data, Unlimited Smart ($174) costs $21 more than Pro plus SmartProspect ($94 + $59 = $153) and removes the 30,000-contact cap, on Smartlead’s pricing page1 as of October 25, 2026. Without lead data the gap is $80, and Pro wins until its contact cap or 90,000 sends bind.
Unlimited Prime ($379) pays off only if you’d otherwise add three SmartServers and three client workspaces to Unlimited Smart ($174 + $117 + $87 = $378), or if you send more than 420,000 emails a month, where the slider’s Unlimited Smart stops end.
- Base ($39) fits one person who brings their own leads: 2,000 stored contacts in total, 6,000 sends a month, no CRM, API or client workspaces, and team members only from Pro. In the solo setup above its contact cap fills in about three months.
- Pro ($94) is the agency entry point: client workspaces at $29 each, team members (as many as you like, per the help center), the CRM and 90,000 sends.
- Unlimited Smart ($174) removes the contact cap and includes 50,000 verified prospect emails, the Premium warmup pool and CSM call access, per the pricing file2.
Ten clients cost $464 a month here before mailboxes, against $443 on Pro with 30,000 prospect emails a month instead of 50,000 and a 30,000-contact cap that frees up only as you delete leads. - Unlimited Prime ($379) bundles, per the same file, three SmartServers, three client workspaces, 170,000 verified emails and a dedicated manager. Ten clients cost $582 with workspaces, $118 more than Unlimited Smart, and its extra sending matters only above 420,000 a month.
Can you add a client login during Smartlead’s trial, and what happens after day 14?
No: a trial account can’t add a client login, because white labeling is the one feature Smartlead’s 14-day trial leaves out, per its trial article4 on October 25, 2026 (its pricing page1 FAQ adds that the option to add clients “is available from Pro Plan onwards”), and no Smartlead page says what happens to the account after day 14.
The trial needs no card and allows 2,500 sends, 1,250 stored contacts, unlimited mailboxes and every other paid feature. Bounced emails count toward the 2,500, warmup emails don’t, and you can upgrade at any time. None of the four plans is free.
In the owner’s trial account, “+ Add Client” opened the subscription page instead of a client form when an AI assistant pressed it on October 3, 2026. The same account showed the plan set to cancel on 14-Oct-2026, and on October 14 a banner reading “Your trial period will expire in 2 hours”; what the account shows after that isn’t recorded yet.
For lead data, its SmartProspect tab showed “Leads Included 1K / Month”, while Smartlead’s SmartProspect guide6 offers “2000 credits to explore SmartProspect”.
Smartlead’s trial article, pricing FAQ and cancellation guide17 cover upgrading and cancelling a paid plan, but none says whether an unpaid account is locked, read-only or deleted once the trial ends. No card is taken, so nothing can be charged; the closest rules are the data-retention periods under billing terms. If you’re mid-campaign on day 14, export your contacts first.
Does Smartlead’s yearly billing save 17% on the whole bill?
Smartlead’s yearly billing takes 17% off the plan only, so the 3-client setup above falls from $240 to $224 a month before mailboxes, about 7%, because the pricing page1’s yearly view shows client workspaces and SmartProspect at the same $29 and $59 a month (October 25, 2026).
On the plan alone, yearly saves $7 to $64 a month on the pricing page1 (Base $39 against $32; Unlimited Prime $379 against $315). It suits you if your plan size is settled before the 7-day refund window on a first payment closes, and not if you might change plans or client count during the year.
What yearly buys under Smartlead’s terms20 (updated May 19, 2026): clause 7.5 says fees aren’t increased during the initial subscription period, that an increase takes effect 30 days after notice, and not more than once in 12 months.
Clause 7.6, though, lets Smartlead pass on a third-party supplier’s price rise with 30 days’ notice and has no exception for the initial period, so a 12-month term protects you from a general rise, not from every one.
What it costs: clause 7.7 makes fees non-refundable if you cancel mid-period, and a subscription auto-renews for another period unless you cancel first (clause 2.2).
Does Smartlead add VAT or GST, and when can you get a refund?
Smartlead’s terms let it add GST or VAT on top of its US-dollar prices, but no Smartlead page says whether it does at checkout for your country, as of October 25, 2026.
The terms20 name 521 Products Pty Ltd, trading as Smartlead.ai, under New South Wales law (clause 19.9), and clause 7.3 says all amounts are “exclusive of any applicable Tax, which will be added”, with Tax defined in clause 20 to include “any goods and services tax or value-added tax, however named”.
Read the checkout total before confirming; a VAT-registered business should look for a tax-ID field there.
- Payment: debit and credit cards through Stripe; PayPal18 through support if your card is refused. No wire or invoice option is listed.
- Renewal and cancellation: subscriptions auto-renew; Base and Pro users cancel in the app17 under Settings, Subscription, and keep access to the end of the period; the help article routes Custom plans (now sold as Unlimited Smart, per Smartlead’s warmup pool article5) and accounts downgraded from Custom to support, and doesn’t say which route Unlimited Prime takes.
- SmartSenders mailboxes: cancelling the plan cancels its SmartSenders mailboxes with it, each “scheduled for deletion one day before its next renewal date” so it isn’t charged again, per the cancellation article17 read October 18, 2026 (on October 3 it said only to delete them from the Email Accounts tab).
- Dropping mailboxes while keeping the plan: delete them from the Email Accounts tab; a mailbox deleted mid-month is billed through that month with no proration, per the refund policy8.
- Refunds: the refund policy8, read October 3, 18 and 25, 2026, gives 7 days from payment on a new customer’s first subscription, 3 days after the most recent renewal only if the product wasn’t used and you give a valid reason, and nothing on add-ons. An upgrade is charged pro rata and isn’t refundable; a downgrade returns unused time as a credit.
- Price changes: 30 days’ notice, once in 12 months, not during an initial term (clause 7.5); third-party cost increases can be passed on with 30 days’ notice, initial term or not (clause 7.6).
- Data after cancelling: two weeks19 per the help center, or removable after one month per the terms (clause 10.2(a)).
Is the first client workspace free on Smartlead Pro?
Smartlead’s pricing page1, its pricing file2 price every client workspace on Pro at $29 a month, with none free, as of October 25, 2026, and the plan table in the owner’s trial account showed “Add-on $29” on Pro without naming a period (read by an AI assistant on September 30 and October 3).
Its FAQ page22 joined them by October 18, 2026 (“$29/month per client workspace … from the Pro plan onward”); on October 3 it said “When you purchase the Pro plan, you will receive one free client as part of the package”.
Two other Smartlead pages read it differently. The lemlist comparison page23 still said “$29/client, 1 free on Pro” on October 25, 2026. The client-access article10 says you can offer client logins “without costing you a single dollar extra”, naming no plan or price, and no page says whether that is the same thing as the $29 add-on.
On Pro, three clients would cost $87, $58 or $0 a month under those readings, and ten $290, $261 or $0. Our setups budget $29 for every client because the three pages that list it as a price (the pricing page, the pricing file and the FAQ page) agree, and only a comparison page’s aside says otherwise; if a free first client changes your sums, ask Smartlead’s support to confirm it before you sign up.
Smartlead’s pages disagree on six more points. The middle column is the one this page uses.
Change record: October 2026, Smartlead rewrote its FAQ page (Pro now 90,000 sends, the “one free client” line gone); we add a line here each time a re-read changes a figure. October 25, 2026: the Fair Use Policy’s per-plan mailbox ceilings (100, 300, 800) were gone, its date unchanged, and the SmartSenders FAQ’s Mailreef order went from a minimum of 15 domains and 75 mailboxes to a maximum of the same.
| Point | This page uses (source) | Another Smartlead page says |
|---|---|---|
| Who can add team members | Pro and up: the team-members article says “Subscribe to the Pro plan”, then allows “an unlimited number” | Comparison page: seats “Unlimited on all plans”, and “A 5-person team pays $39/month total” |
| Lead data on Base | 2,000 verified emails a month as a $59 add-on (pricing page, pricing file, app) | Comparison page: “2,000 credits/mo included (SmartProspect)” |
| Yearly prices | $32 / $78 / $144 / $315 a month; app totals $388 / $936 / $1,733 / $3,775 | Pricing file: $32.50 / $78.30 / $144.50 / $314.60, or $390 / $939.60 / $1,734 / $3,775.20 a year |
| SmartSenders Google mailboxes | $13 a domain a year, $4.50 a mailbox a month (pricing page, Zapmail) | SmartSenders FAQ: $15 a domain, $4 a mailbox (its InboxAutomate and Zapmail sections); Outlook $15 + $1, minimum 2 domains of 50 mailboxes |
| SmartSenders mailboxes when you cancel the plan | Cancelled with the plan, each deleted a day before its next renewal (cancellation guide, October 18, 2026) | SmartSenders FAQ: billed “till you decide to delete the account”, and “we do not offer a cancellation or pause feature” |
| Verification entry price | Widget: $16.50 one-time for 6,000 credits, $33 for 12,000 | Pricing file: “starts at $32” |
Pages read October 3 and 25, 2026; the app figures come from the owner’s trial, screens read by an AI assistant on September 30 and October 3, 2026. The app’s yearly totals aren’t 12 times its monthly figures (12 × $32 is $384, not $388); which amount Stripe charges we can’t say without a checkout, which wasn’t run.
Is lead data or a client login cheaper outside Smartlead?
Lead data at low volume is cheaper on Apollo’s free plan, which gives 900 credits a seat a year, granted monthly, with 2 sequences, per Apollo’s pricing page29 on October 25, 2026. That’s 75 credits a month: enough to test a niche, not to feed 660 new contacts a month into Base; our Apollo pricing guide covers what those credits buy.
A client login isn’t cheaper on Instantly when each client needs its own, because Instantly bills every workspace as a separate subscription, per its workspace guide28. At 1,100 new contacts a client a month, each workspace outgrows the $47 Growth plan’s 1,000 uploaded contacts, “a fixed limit across all campaigns, not per month” (plans overview27).
So three clients cost $291 a month and ten $970 on $97 Hypergrowth (pricing page26), against $181 and $384 on Smartlead Pro with $29 logins; our Instantly vs Smartlead comparison prices both tools from 5 to 150 mailboxes as well.
For clients who share one workspace, see how Instantly bills an agency per client.
When does Smartlead’s pricing work against you?
Smartlead’s pricing works against four kinds of buyers, going by its own pages on October 25, 2026: teams that want LinkedIn steps or calling inside the plan price, buyers of domains for longer than a year, anyone counting on a refund, and Base users who need teammates, the API, the CRM or client logins.
- You want LinkedIn steps or calling under one price. Smartlead’s pricing page1 shows no LinkedIn price, and calls run on SmartDialer credits from $9 a month on top of the plan.
- You want domains you buy to last more than a year. SmartSenders domains run a fixed 12-month term with no renewal and can’t be moved out of Smartlead.
- You’re counting on a refund. The refund policy gives 7 days on a first payment, 3 days on an unused renewal, and nothing on add-ons.
- You need teammates, the API, the CRM or client logins on Base. Smartlead’s help center9 puts team members on Pro ($94), and its pricing file2 puts the other three there too.
How we researched this
Every price and limit comes from Smartlead’s, Instantly’s, Apollo’s and Google’s own pages or the owner’s trial screens, the pages read again on October 3 or 4, 2026 after first reads from September 30, the All Leads article again on October 8, and every source again on October 25.
Smartlead’s FAQ, refund policy, cancellation guide, lemlist comparison page, SmartSenders FAQ and pricing-page code, Google’s billing and domain help and Instantly’s plans overview were read again on October 18, 2026; each date is in Sources.
Smartlead’s pricing page was also loaded in a browser so its yearly cards, volume slider and verification widget could be read; every total is our arithmetic.
The first-hand part is three visits to a 14-day Smartlead trial the owner opened on September 30, 2026, with an AI assistant reading the screens in the owner’s account.
On September 30 it read the Subscription, SmartProspect, SmartDialer and SmartSenders tabs; on October 3 it pressed “+ Add Client” in the Client Portal, which opened the Subscription page, and read the plan table again; on October 14, the trial’s last day, it imported a one-row CSV into two draft campaigns to see how Contact Storage counts a duplicate.
Nothing was sent, bought or connected, no checkout was opened, and the only things created were two draft campaigns holding the one test address, with no mailbox or sequence, so this page doesn’t rate deliverability, lead quality or the app, and doesn’t show the tax line at checkout or the account after the trial ends.
No ranking pricing post is a source for a number. Researched and drafted with an AI assistant; the owner approved the October 3 “+ Add Client” check and the October 14 import in advance.
We judge on three things: the monthly total for your setup, which cap fills first, and the billing terms. Smartlead pays us a commission if you sign up through our links. The plan picks follow those three tests, and the section on cheaper options names the cases where a free plan or another tool costs less.
Verdict
Pick Smartlead’s Base ($39, or $32 billed yearly on its pricing page, October 25, 2026) if you’re one person with your own leads and fewer than 2,000 contacts in total before you’d start deleting old ones.
Pick Pro with $29 client workspaces if each client needs a private login and you’ll stay under 30,000 stored contacts; pick Unlimited Smart instead the moment you’d buy SmartProspect, since it costs $21 more than Pro plus the add-on and has no contact cap.
Pick Unlimited Prime only if you’d add both three SmartServers and three client workspaces to Unlimited Smart, or send more than 420,000 emails a month. Whatever you pick, size it during the trial, and if a free first client changes your sums, confirm it with Smartlead first (see the three readings of the client fee).
Smartlead
Best fit if the verdict points you to Base, Pro or Unlimited Smart; refunds cover only 7 days of a first payment, so size the plan in the trial.
Visit SmartleadTrial terms on October 25, 2026: 14 days, no card, up to 2,500 sends and 1,250 stored contacts (Smartlead help center).

FAQ
What are the reviews like for Smartlead?
Smartlead’s pricing page and help center publish no review score as of October 18, 2026, and this page quotes no review site; what the owner’s 14-day trial showed about plans, client logins and contact counting is in the trial section, and nothing was sent, so deliverability and daily use weren’t tried.
Is Instantly or Smartlead better?
This page prices Smartlead and doesn’t rate either app: on cost alone, Smartlead comes out cheaper when each client needs a private login (worked out above from both pricing pages, October 25, 2026), and Instantly’s shared-workspace option is in our Instantly pricing guide.
Does Smartlead have a discount or coupon?
Smartlead’s pricing page read “Sign up now and get 50% off on your first month on any plan” on October 3 and 25, 2026, and the owner’s trial account showed the same offer to an AI assistant, applied at checkout without a code and shown with a countdown for that new account. Yearly billing is the only standing discount, at 17%.
What happens to SmartSenders mailboxes when a client leaves mid-term?
You keep paying until you delete them: a SmartSenders domain runs 12 months from purchase with no renewal and can’t be moved out of Smartlead, and a mailbox deleted mid-month is billed through that month with no proration, per the SmartSenders FAQ7 and refund policy8 read October 18, 2026.
The SmartSenders FAQ adds “we do not offer a cancellation or pause feature” for mailboxes, so a departing client’s mailboxes are a delete-or-keep-paying choice.
What do 1,000 emails cost on each Smartlead plan?
Used in full and billed monthly: Base $6.50 per 1,000 sends, Pro $1.04, Unlimited Smart $1.16 and Unlimited Prime $0.76 (our arithmetic, October 25, 2026). Sends reset on your billing date, per Smartlead’s help center12.
